Enhancement of the Concrete Durability with Hybrid Nano Materials

The importance of the incorporation nanomaterials in concrete has emerged as a promising research interest due to outstanding functionalized properties materials at that size level. This study aims investigate engineering and durability incorporated with hybrid nanomaterials. In this study, influence carbon nanotube (CNT) on microstructure, mechanical, corrosion characteristics nano-clay-based (NC) been evaluated. cement was replaced CNT different percentages 0.01%, 0.02%, 0.04% by weight, while NC constant percentage 5%. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) used examine microstructural characterization samples. To nanotubes fresh properties, slump air content tests were carried out. compressive strength, tensile flexural bond strength hardened evaluated according ASTM standards. porosity specimens determined carrying out sorptivity water penetration tests. resistance steel bar embedded assessed. results SEM examinations showed incorporating into remarkably achieved denser structure all studied contents. Further, significant enhancements mechanical durability, chloride attained when concrete. adding CNTs improves proven useful crack propagation within matrix compared control mix without CNT. Results prove nano gives better performance for properties.
